Starting point

A PE-owned pharma group (≈ 9,000 employees) had to carve out 8 of 32 production sites across Europe. IT had been badly neglected in the carve-out contract, a second carve-out was running in parallel, and a data-centre relocation was also due.

Approach

  • Structured and led the carve-out in 8 workstreams — 30 direct reports, as part of the carve-out steering committee
  • Negotiated and continuously monitored the transfer service agreement (TSA)
  • Built a 91-item closure-date checklist and ensured its execution
  • Separated IoT- and blockchain-based applications for level 2/3 serialisation
  • Built and launched the target operating model (TOM)

Result

  • Day-zero functionality of all critical business functions across 8 sub-companies Europe-wide
  • TSA exit secured, all 91 closure items delivered
  • Target operating model live
